Just Another "This is how we met story" (Rob's Version)

Well it all started my first day back here in BYU-Idaho. I called my friends Jamie and Rachel to see if they needed any help with moving in or sorting out anything in their apartment. They said I could stop by and help so I did. I stopped by to help clean and organize things. I met their new roommate Lizzy who was the sister of a friend of Jamie's. I said "Hello" and shook her hand tried to make small talk but she never looked me in the eye or gave any response to anything I was asking. She was busy organizing the kitchen and she seemed kinda bossy ordering everyone around. I helped out with what I was "allowed" to help out with. So I left that day with my mind occupied on other things. Months passed and I would often stop by to visit Rachel and Jamie and of course Lizzy/Liz was always there. And I would say hi and make small talk and what not. As time passed I recall working on a project in the Library one day with a friend of mine. (Liz worked at the Library at the time) and as we were walking past the help desk. I heard "HI ROB!!" I turned to see Liz waving enthusiastically at me I waved back and said "Hi" but kept on walking. My friend turned to me with a big suprised look on her face and said, "Wow that was quite the flirtatious hello." "Really?" I said. "Yeah no doubt about it." I didn't really think anything about it and then just went to class. I came home that same day and found an elaborate note on my bed. It was from Liz asking me to a formal dance the next weekend. I was very suprised and anyone who knows me knows that I love to dance even though I don't dance very well. In any case I was sad to say I could not go because I had already made plans to go to my mission reunion that same weekend. I was sad but I wanted to make it up to her. I thought I would do something else with her. So I invited her to play frisbee later that saturday. On Sunday we went to a fireside together then to staidium singing. Monday we went for a REALLY long walk and had a really good talk. Tuesday we went to devotional together. Wensday I had a show in the Hinkley she was unable to come because she had fainted earlier that day (Because she was thinking of me *giggle*) Just kidding she gets dizzy from her medication which causes her to faint sometimes. In any case I went to see her afterwards and see how she was doing. She had made me some cookies and we set a date to go on a date the next night. I picked her up and we headed out to the theater and met my roommate and his girlfriend there. We went to go see a movie then went out to eat afterwards at Wingers (It's like Red Robin) and we walked back home. We came to an intersection and I asked,"So where is this going?" Liz stopped for a second and looked down at the street . I jokingly said, "Not the street, us. Where are we going?" She laughed and said, "Well I like you and I'd like it to go somewhere." "So would I." I said with a smile. Shortly after that I held her hand and I've never let go since. That's the story in a nut shell. We have lots of funny stories to go along with this that we still laugh about. Although I may be missing some "important" details I believe that Liz will agree for the most part. But if she has anything else to add then she certinely can. Or if there are any questions feel free to ask her or myself. That's it for now and the rest will be history.

Just Another Week of Service

Well this past week has been quite interesting last Saturday I had volunteered for the "Rush" Triathlon. It was lots of fun. Some of my coworkers came to volunteer as well and everyone had a great time. We had a huge turn out of people. We had about 377 racers more or less. My friend Jamie was in charge of everything she placed me in charge of the biking portion of the race it. For it we woke up at 4:30 in the morning to meet with all the volunteers at 5 it was a great time to sleep in considering that because we always wake up at 3:30 for early morning custodial anyway. Well we had fun but I was dead afterwards and slept until about 9:45 I called Liz and we talked for a while it was a great way to end the day. On tuesday afternoon we helped out with a service activity in the park called "Celebrating Youth" it's a get together for local businesses and leaders in the community. Basically it's a carnival for the kids who are starting school the next day. It was fun. I was in charge of the "Ping-Pong" Toss it was very exhausting I was just about to keel over by the end. Because I'd been up for about 13 hours and was very tired. Anyway that was that. Here you can see Jamie and I afterwards when we were all cleaned up. For some reason the bugs were really attracted to our green shirts.

Just Another Engagement Announcment

Well contrary to popular belief the answer to the previous poll was the J series. Sorry to all those who wanted it to be the x series. In any case Liz and I are unofficially officially engaged. We're planing on the Oakland Temple perhaps sometimes in July but for now we'll see what happens. Other plans are not official yet because the deed has not been done yet. *The Proposal* but anyway that's what's going on for now other then that. That's it for now but I'll keep you all posted until then.

Just Another Blog Update

Well after much consideration, thought and prayer. I have come to repent of my terrible sin. For this reason I have come to update my blog. So here we are many months later. Well in a nut shell I've just completed my second semester here at BYU-Idaho and loved every minute of it. I was extremely busy last semester not only classes but also: Ultimate Frisbee, Academy of Comedy (An Improve group that I helped run and will be heading in the fall :), Church callings, etc. Lots to do but my favorite pass time was spending time with my fantastic girlfriend: Liz. Other then that here in Rexburg what else can I say but that the whole place is totally dead. There is little to nothing to do. To keep myself busy I work early morning custodial in the Benson building. I have fun cleaning stuffed animals, changing light bulbs in cadaver labs and feeding turtles. My co-workers are fantastic to talk with. In any case with my friends that are up here we usually go see movies at the dollar theater, get snow cones, eat Sunday dinners together and what not it's a lot of fun. One thing I am grateful for is to be able to talk to Liz everyday. Although she's back home in Seattle I'm glad she takes the time out of her day to talk to me. We enjoy each others company over any distance. LOL well at least for now. Life is just normal other then that. I gave a talk this morning in church on Regret. I did feel very bad because the other speakers were very good but the congregation was falling asleep. So when I got up I tried to be really peppy and fun which seemed to work I got lots of compliments form everyone afterwards. I hope the message got across. Other then that I was asked to volunteer for the local triathalon next month to help out organizing it and what not. So that will be fun. This week on Friday I'll go with some friends to a midnight book sale on some book all the girls are oogeling over. (Whatever) Any that's the news for now.

Just Another Day in Fontana

Well it has been quite a while since I've updated my blog but here we are. Well anyway a lot has happened in the past month. Christmas was great spending time with family. But now that I'm down here in Fontana and life is good I try to be helpful but never the less stay out of everyone's way at the same time. I'm just trying my best to stay on top of things. The good news is that I have a job interview next monday at eddible arrangments. So I'm hoping to get a job there. That will be fun and different. Also even though Emily and I have broken up we still stay in contact as much as possible but since we both have different schedules we have a hard time some times getting together to talk but we usually find time. I enjoy being able to talk with her and hearing her insights and about her days in general. She is a treasure. But other then these things going on not much else is going on. The Fontana stake conference was fantastic. President Hinkley talked about effective marrages and four important things that will build a strong foundation in the family. I greatly enjoyed the oppertunity I had to be there. Other then that I'm trying to keep up with my study and doing my best to keep up with life. But as the wind my howl and skreech in your ears you still have to bare the burden of the weight that fall upon you shoulders and carry you load up the mountain.
